Top Art is an annual touring exhibition featuring some of New Zealand's top secondary school Visual Art portfolios. The exhibition is based on a selection of the Level 3 portfolios which gained Excellence in NCEA external examinations in 2011.
Top Art provides an opportunity for secondary students and teachers to view the high standard of art produced in schools and gain an
understanding of what is required to achieve Excellence in Visual Art at Level 3. It is also an opportunity for members of the public
to see the high quality art being created in schools.
Visual Art from New Zealand’s top secondary school art students will be featured in two touring exhibitions visiting 33 different venues throughout the country over the next six months.
The two collections bring together a selection of 60 of the top Visual Arts portfolios from students who gained Excellence in NCEA Level 3 in 2011. The touring exhibition provides the public with the opportunity to see the high standard of art produced in secondary schools and gives students and teachers an understanding of what is required to achieve Excellence in Visual Art at Level 3.
